Welcome to my home on the web!
My name is Adam Rusch and I am a PhD Candidate in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership at the University of Illinois. My focus is on education technologies with a research specialization track in evaluative methodologies, and my Dissertation is on “Examining the Structure and Efficacy of Learning Management Systems.” I hold and MA in Communication and an MS in Information Science, studying online groups and community informatics.
I’m also interested in the social aspects of informal learning and affinity groups, particularly in online spaces. I believe there is a lot more knowledge creation that goes on outside the formal education system than within the bounds of a course or learning module. One of the outstanding opportunities of online education technology is the ability to capture this energy by transcending the geographic limits of a traditional classroom.
I’m always excited to discuss my ideas. If you have any questions or comments about my work, drop me an email and I’d be happy to hear from you.
